Berlin is the capital of Germany and is located in the eastern part of Germany, about 90 kilometres west of the border with Poland. The city is Germany's most populous city with about 3.4 million inhabitants and 4.4 million if you include the suburbs.

Weather and climate

Germany is in the transition area between the western European coastal climate and central European continental climate. Along the Baltic coast, there is a coastal climate with small differences between winter and summer. The southern parts of Germany become warm and hot during summers. Wintertime in Germany is usually cold and snowy.
